All IPG personal protection specialists receive extensive training in our own highly respected IPG Academy, which not only trains IPG candidates but also is attended by other security professional seeking world-class instruction. All IPG personal protection candidates go through a comprehensive screening process. This includes background checks, aptitude tests, reference verification, drug screening and extensive interviews to determine protection skills and attitude/personality quotients. Once hired and graduating the IPG Academy, all personal protection specialists receive continuous in-service training to stay abreast of the latest in security measures.

President and CEO Jerry Heying founded IPG. Jerry has more than 30 years of protection experience. He is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Personal Protection Specialist (PPS) and a well-known security and executive protection instructor. Mr. Heying also founded and operates the well-respected International Protective Service Agency, a company that provides security officers and other security services to some of the most prestigious hotels, retail locations, luxury condo residences and Class A high-rise office buildings in New York City.

IPG personnel have a full range of experience with protective details as members, leaders, and performing advance preparation and organizing details for private families, celebrities and entertainers, business executives and religious leaders on a worldwide basis.

IPG professional memberships include the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Academy of Security Educators and Trainers (ASET), Nine Lives Associates (NLA), International Special Events Society (ISES), American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET), National Association of Investigative Specialists (NAIS), Police Marksman Association (PMA), and several others.
